Sandra Van Bergen, MSc, is a registered psychologist who provides psychological assessment, psychotherapy, training, and counselling for children, youth, and adults experiencing mild, moderate and complex mental health conditions and psychological distress.
Sandra received her Master's in Education and Behavioural Development, degrees in Educational Psychology and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and the title of NLP coach (Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming) in the Netherlands. She was the trauma therapist (EMDR) and Head of a specialised therapy department in the Netherlands. She led the multidisciplinary team in assessing and treating youth and adults with complex psychological distress, trauma, behavioural problems, psychiatric disorders, disabilities, parenting and relationship problems and generational family dysfunction.
She has worked in the community, inpatient and outpatient settings and private practice, conducting individual and group therapy. Passionate about self-empowerment, she teaches her clients tools to empower themselves.
Sandra works with PTSD and (traumatic) stress and anger management, anxiety, mood and personality disorders, women’s mental health and well-being, parenting and relationship issues, grief and loss, burnout and career choices, addiction, gambling and pain management. She is an intercultural educator and advisor on cultural and trauma-informed care and Indigenous perspectives on mental health.
