About
Emma is a registered psychologist and clinical psychology registrar who provides psychological therapy and assessment to children, youth, and adults. Emma uses a compassionate and collaborative approach and has experience treating individuals with mild, moderate, and complex levels of psychological distress.
She completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Tasmania in Hobart. Emma uses a client-centred approach to help clients achieve their goals and improve psychological functioning for various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, stress, interpersonal problems, grief, and personality-related issues. In addition, she is passionate about supporting victim-survivors to understand and move forward after leaving relationships in which abuse was perpetrated.
Emma uses evidence-based approaches guided by the individual client, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness-based Therapy, and Attachment-focused therapy.
Emma is passionate about understanding the holistic context of individuals' lives and is interested in how intersections between context, power, and oppression contribute to distress. As such, she draws from social justice frameworks of distress when clinically relevant, including feminist and structural approaches.
